Transport & Customs department is a part of Global Supply Chain ensures complete Transport & Customs operations of India. We are looking for a suitable candidate who are well proficient , well structured, well organised and ready to work in an International Environment with many Cultural Differences. Candidate should be able to handle India customs, transport & factory logistics operations.

Responsibilities

• Must have hands on experience in Export/Import, Trade Compliance, Government Rules, Regulations, Policies, Subsidies.etc
• Hands on experience in dealing Advance License, Duty drawback, Returnable equipments, RoDTEP, MEIS, HS codes, Free Trade Agreements, Duty bonds, GST & duty benefit schemes etc
• Act as an India Customs Team lead based in India (Chennai)
• Effectively direct analyses to improve our business setup by constructing and guiding improvement projects.
• Drive/Participate in India customs projects that are guiding to smooth business continuity
• Total Landed Cost Calculations, Business Cases
• Up to date information and maintaining Policy, SOP, Country Guides, Green-Light Templates, Guidelines and Governance
• Internal Audit & Compliance related to Customs Process, Documentation etc.
• Maintaining Complete Data related to Transport & Customs processes & Support AEO
• Communication with Customs authorities, port authorities, Internal customers, stakeholders, external logistics service providers.
• Generate daily/weekly/monthly and periodic management reports
• Ensure documentary errors or process gaps/oversight does not lead to extra costs for Vestas through delays, fines, penalties etc.
• Monitor and Report on performance by Customs Brokers & forwarders
• Handling complete factory logistics
• Handling Legal, claims functions when dealing with Customs/Tax Authorities or Escalations

Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters in Supply Chain Planning / Logistics.
• Minimum 8-14 years of relevant experience in handling Indian Customs / Documentations / Trade compliance functions

Competencies

• Experience as a Subject Matter Expert related to Indian Customs
• Knowledge in Shipping, multi-modal logistics, freight forwarding, International Supply Chain is a positive
• Hands-on experience with Indian Customs Procedures and knowledge of Shipping, multi-modal logistics, Freight Forwarding, International Supply Chain Process etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Package required (Solid experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) is a requirement and SAP MM / SAP TM modules.
• Good Scientific skill and use business knowledge for results
• Creatively identify problems and implement effective solutions
• Effective stakeholder Management
• Solid interpersonal & ability to communicate and supervise well at all levels of the organization
• High level of integrity and dependability with a solid sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Fluent in English communication (Oral & Written)
• Flexible work hours
• Reliable for occasional Travel within India
